Melissa Nicks, MA, received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach and her Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She is currently in her second year in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Grand Canyon University, with the goal of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. Melissa has seven years of experience working in the mental health and healthcare field. Prior to moving to Arizona, Melissa worked in the substance abuse treatment industry in California providing outreach and resources to those struggling with addiction and their families. She was also responsible for coordinating their admission into the treatment facility. Melissa is excited to join CalmOCD and be a part of a team of extraordinary clinicians that are dedicated to such an incredible mission. She strongly believes that each person that seeks help deserves to be met with kindness, respect, and acceptance and CalmOCD understands that each individual is unique and develops a treatment plan specific to each individual. Melissa understands the courage it takes to reach out for help, and she is honored to be able to be a small part of your journey towards healing.
At CalmOCD we treat individuals ages 5 and up with obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, eating disorders, panic disorder, agoraphobia, phobias, misophonia, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), and co-occurring depression.
