Bethany Bosier, MS, LPC, CPC, LISAC, LCDC, RPT, CCTP is a licensed mental health therapist providing therapeutic services in Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. Bethany is able to offer in-person sessions in Scottsdale, AZ and telehealth therapy in Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.
Bethany obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma where she focused on developmental psychology and was involved in multiple research projects relating to this area of psychology. She received her master’s degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas and specialized in working with children and adolescents. Bethany brings seven years of post-graduate experience treating various mental health disorders in residential, intensive outpatient, school, in-home, and private practice settings.
Bethany has extensive experience working with children and families as a Certified Child-Centered Play Therapist and a Registered Play Therapist. She utilizes Child-Centered Play Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and family systems to work with children and families. Bethany believes that incorporating the family into treatment is paramount as it promotes an understanding and healing environment for the entire family system. Bethany understands that having a child that struggles with anxiety or OCD can be extremely overwhelming and distressing as a caregiver and works to provide extensive psychoeducation during treatment to the family so that they feel empowered with tools to help support the client through this difficult time.
Bethany is a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor in Arizona and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas and recognizes the need to focus on co-occurring treatment of substance use and other mental health disorders simultaneously as it leads to better outcomes while ensuring that the whole person is being treated. Bethany also specializes in working with those that have suffered traumatic experiences in their lives. Bethany is trained in providing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Bethany strives to assist individuals heal from trauma and reclaim their power.
Bethany has experience working with individuals struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating. She utilizes various different treatment modalities in specializing in eating disorders including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention. Bethany is currently working towards obtaining her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist credential at this time and deeply values growing as a clinician in order to best support her current and future clients. She recognizes the importance of collaborating with all members of the treatment team to ensure holistic care and that all treatment goals are met. Bethany is passionate about working with those that have co-occurring OCD and eating disorders as both diagnoses can create barriers to one being able to live their life to the fullest.
Bethany focuses on cultivating a meaningful connection with the individual as she believes it can provide insight into current behavioral patterns and assist in the healing journey. She brings authenticity, honesty, warmth, and humor to her therapeutic approach. She believes in the value of creating a space so you can feel supported and accepted while working through your most difficult fears and reducing compulsive behaviors. Bethany grew up in Northwest Houston and recently moved to Arizona in 2022 with her husband and three cats. Outside of work, she can be found exploring the local area to find new little gems to love about Arizona. Bethany enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, spending time with loved ones, and attempting to learn how to garden in the desert.
At CalmOCD we treat individuals ages 5 and up with obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, eating disorders, panic disorder, agoraphobia, phobias, misophonia, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), and co-occurring depression.
