Meg Ilges, M.Ed. LPC is a licensed mental health therapist in Arizona and Missouri. She provides in-person sessions in Scottsdale, AZ, as well as tele-health sessions for clients in Arizona and Missouri.
Meg obtained her undergraduate degrees of Psychology and Public Relations from Missouri State University, and went on to complete her Masters of Education in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. She has 4.5 years of post-graduate experience in the counseling field, and has worked in a private practice and university settings. During her time in private practice, Meg worked with adolescents, adults, and couples that faced issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and more. She then honed in her skills for working with young adults during her time on-campus at a university, helping students navigate life transitions, process trauma, and address other mental health challenges.
Education is also a passion for Meg, as she has years of experience in public speaking. She has spoken to audiences of all ages, addressing topics such as: suicide prevention, signs of depression, coping skills, self-esteem, healthy relationships, and the intersection of social media and mental health. Meg believes that empowering our communities to better understand such topics is critical for reducing stigma surrounding mental health, as well as fostering a kind and compassionate society.
Meg specializes in the treatment of OCD, utilizing exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Meg enjoys working with all ages, and has experience treating children, teens, and adults. Meg finds immense joy and meaning the practice of empowering her clients to understand their OCD, and get back to living a life aligned with their values.
Meg feels honored to join the team at CalmOCD, and feels privileged to walk with clients throughout their healing journey as they address their OCD. She is passionate about helping her clients to embrace vulnerability and authenticity, fostering a meaningful and fulfilling life. Living with OCD can feel overwhelming and lonely. Meg's main goal is for her clients to feel heard and understood, while also empowering them to take back control of their lives and decisions. Therapy should be a space in which clients feel both safe, and challenged to grow.
Meg is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. The Midwest will always hold a special place in her heart, but she loves the Arizona heat and sun! In her free time, Meg enjoys spending time with her friends and family, as well as hiking, traveling, and trying out new restaurants.
