I provide evidence-based care for OCD and related conditions.
Alexandra (Lexie) Persinger, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker providing in-person and virtual therapy in Scottsdale, Arizona, and virtual therapy in Colorado.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University and her Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. Her clinical experience includes community mental health, crisis social work, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs at Rogers Behavioral Health, and student and resident mental health services at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
Lexie is passionate about treating OCD, BFRBs, ARFID, and related anxiety conditions, with particular interest in relationship, scrupulosity, contamination, “Just Right,” and perfectionism. She especially enjoys helping clients navigate uncertainty, the desire for control, reassurance seeking, avoidance, self-criticism, and shame.
Lexie provides individualized, evidence-based care in a warm, collaborative, and authentic environment. She draws from ERP, CBT, ACT, DBT, and IFS and uses a “challenge by choice” approach to help clients build confidence, take meaningful steps outside of their comfort zone, and move toward the life they want.
One of her favorite parts of therapy is seeing clients begin to understand how OCD works in their unique brain and witnessing how much growth and change is possible in this work.
Outside of therapy, Lexie enjoys hiking, biking, dancing, spending time in nature, cooking, reading, and connecting with friends.
At CalmOCD we treat individuals ages 5 and up with obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, eating disorders, panic disorder, agoraphobia, phobias, misophonia, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), and co-occurring depression. CalmOCD is proud to be a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for all individuals, including our LGBTQIA+ community.
